Kipsigis Girls High School
Kipsigis Girls High School is committed to pursuing strategies and programs that fulfill its mandate of empowering the girl child. Through a strong sense of purpose, teamwork, and a shared vision, the school continues to provide quality education, earning pride and confidence from its consistent academic excellence.
The school was established in 1955 as an African Girls’ Boarding School, offering classes from Standard 5 to 8 with a total enrollment of 140 pupils. In 1965, two years after Kenya’s independence, it was upgraded to a secondary school with 120 students.
In 1970, the school introduced ‘A’ level classes, beginning with a single Arts stream. The first cohort sat for the East African Certificate of Education (E.A.C.E.) in 1971, and the program later expanded to two streams.
