Parents Association
The P.A Chairman – Mr. Allan Motelin
Kipsigis Girls High School is rich in history and tradition. It was the first girls’ school to be established in the Southern Rift Valley and, during the 1970s and 1980s, it stood as the only girls’ high school in the greater Kericho region offering A-level education. At the time, the school was ranked among the best nationally and has since produced many distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions both within the country and beyond.
However, following the introduction of the 8-4-4 education system, the school experienced a period of average academic performance.
In recent years, the school has made a remarkable turnaround, steadily reclaiming its past glory and positioning itself among the top-performing institutions nationally. This progress is attributed to the visionary leadership of the Board of Management, the Parents Association, the school administration, dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff, disciplined students, and the support of all stakeholders. The institution’s elevation to a National School by the government has further strengthened this mission of providing quality and holistic education to the girl child. I call upon all stakeholders to support the school in living up to this esteemed status.
The school continues to experience steady and multifaceted growth. Academic performance is on an upward trajectory, and we are optimistic that the current Form Four class, aptly named the “Queens of Excellence,” will surpass the 10.0 mean score mark. Students have also excelled in various co-curricular activities, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic development.
Significant strides have been made in infrastructure development to accommodate the growing student population and enhance service delivery. Notable achievements include the completion of a modern Science Complex and residential houses for non-teaching staff. Additionally, a large multipurpose hall is currently under construction. I sincerely thank all parents for their contributions toward this project and encourage continued support to see it through to completion.
Despite these achievements, the school still faces challenges in areas such as water supply, sewerage systems, the establishment of a resource center, dormitory expansion, and housing for school administration. With collective effort and faith, we are confident that these challenges will be overcome.
May God bless you all as we continue working together for the growth and success of our school.
